Everyone is interested in the latest technology when it comes to improving their facial form. The ravages of environmental exposure will ultimately degrade your skin and bring you to your knees…Is there a magic bullet that will return your face to days gone by? Absolutely not ! However there are ways that you can make the best of your exposure to the elements….
Botox ( Botulinum a) and Dysport ( Botulinum a) are in the forefront of those treatments that can make a difference. By injecting a small amount of the Botulinum a toxin, you can soften the angry ” 11 ” lines between your eyebrows as well as soften the crows around your eyes.
But now, clinical trials are ongoing which allow the Botulinum toxin to be absorbed through the skin without the use of needles. The trials are only in their early stages….but eventually this may be a viable alternative to the injections. In all liklihood the topical application will need a Physician’s prescription and Physician monitoring. Nevertheless, the possibilities are exciting.

STEM CELL FACELIFT IN THE NEWS
Dr Wolin has been utilizing the patient’s own fat and stem cells to rejuvenate the face and improve the overall health of the facial skin for the past 15 years. He has found that by transferring stem cells as well as the fat, the loss in facial volume which occurs during normal ageing can be reversed. Volumizing the shrunken cheek, temple, and lower eyelids can be a fantastic option for all those looking for a permanent filler in a quick office procedure. The harvest and the fat injection take no more than an hour and can be done under a local anesthesia. Breast Shaping in the News
The newest advances in breast augmentation and reconstruction are in the Form Stable implants which are now being tested at many academic centers across the country. These silicone gel implants are highly cohesive so they maintain the shape of the implant shell and do not deform. This is great news for all those women who do not have any significant breast tissue but want a more natural breast shape to go along with their increased breast volume. These implants should be available to the general public in 2010.
Facial shaping with fillers and botulinum A
The newest Botox on the market is Dysport.. a product used by European physicians for many years to treat chronic muscle disorders. The Dysport product has been used by Dr Wolin since it’s emergence on the US scene. He has found that the product produces it’s affect on the small frowning muscles of the face much more quickly than the previous Botox product. Our office is promoting this new preparation with a great value..$250.00 dollars for a treatment to any area.
Studies published over the last year indicate that the amount of Hyaluronic filler( Perlane and Restylane) used for the initial correction of nasolabial folds is important in building a firm filler base for correction. It was found that 2cc of Perlane rather than a single syringe of 1cc will give added and prolonged correction of the defect. We are recommending that patients begin with 2cc to enhance their ultimate results.
